Damper question

  1. #1
Hi guys, need to change my rear dampers as one of them is fooked, question is, what dampers do I get? It seems that everyone raves about blistein b8s but I don't really want to be paying £90 per damper. What are the Apex ones like? Also is there any point in putting uprated shocks on the back and not doing the front?

The car is lowered about 40mm if that makes a difference.

    cheers.

Apex are probably the best of the cheaper dampers. Good ride quality and seem to last too.

If you buy from me I can have these to you next working day.

Ive got Spax adjustables, paid £150 for the full set if i remember. Been on the car 4 years without a hitch.

If youre doing the front ones, please do the back ones... Always do them all

My plan was to just do the back as mu back right damper is ineffective. Is this something where you should do all of then? Surely as long as I do both left and right on the back it'll be ok

No youd need to do the full lot mate, other wise youre just asking from trouble from corners. i would only replace one at a time if it was identical (in spec) to all of the rest.

Defo wouldnt be putting uprated on the back and standard on the front, i cant believe that would handle well at all.

Its not going to be lethal just doing the rears but its advisable to change them all. Also do shocks in pairs never just one at a time

ok in that case i'll do all 4. how much difference does blistein b8s really make?

Not entirely true. If you know what you are doing you can set up a car how you want. We've specced up many FWD cars with a relatively soft front end and stiff rear to dial out understeer and get the car turning how the driver wants into the corners.
