I have just rebuilt my vtr engine with forged pistons ready for turbo. I have out the engine back in the car and have a large problem when I connect all the earths up the starter works but not very well and the fuel pump dosent prime, interior blowers don't work and rear heated screen dosent work. But when I remove the earth from the battery to the gearbox the fans and all that start to work but the starter dosent then work. I have tried a new starter motor and still no change can someone help please

#2from what you have explained sounds like the live to the starter is earthing somewhere, id check that as if it turns over slowly because its earthing then it would be draining all the power to the other appliances as the starter sups a lot of juice on turnover, hence why nothing else works.
does sound like the problem lies with the starter wiring because as you say when you remove the earth everything else works, id clean up all the contacts and make sure they aren't shorting and if all else fails replace the wires, then go from there! hope this helps
