Drivers door and boot problem...

I have a saxo vtr 2001 and the drivers doors not closing properly you have to either slam it or just close it a few time and then it still only catches on the 1st catch it won't shut tightly on the 2nd catch any ideas ?

Also when i lock the doors the boot doesn't lock, but I can hear the motors spinning in there, it has been de wipe red by the previous owner, I'm hoping there like a metal bar that has come off the lock mechanism that links to the motor ? Also when I put the key in the boot I cant lock it do these have a different key for the boot or something ?

my drivers door catches on the door card sometimes, only when i open it though but it could be that if the previous guy has fitted speakers or anything, check its all tight and see if its catching anywhere, also check your door alignment to the body work of the car and make sure the bolts are all tight or the weight will force the door to the ground and it wont shut properly or could possibly be the rubber door seals if they aren't sat in the grooves correctly, can't really think of much else for that!

as for the boot it should lock with the central locking so somethings either been removed or fallen off in there, your normal door key should fit the boot lock but like you say its been De-wipered could of used a different boot from another car hence why the key wont fit

id query the previous owner and see what work hes done, may help you out if you still have his contact details hope this helps!

just one more thing, just re read over.. if your boot lock doesn't work with the key then it could be the mechanism as well, not just the wrong key* i can't remember if they key over rides it manually

The actuator solenoid in the boot has a metal bar clipped to it which goes to the mechanism. It sometimes becomes detached or the piece of plastic holding it breaks.

The boot solenoid is a piece of piss to replace. Meanwhile I reckon that you should unplug it. As I found out one day, one little tap just above the key hole and you can actually unlock the car because the solenoid would not fully engage, only half way.

    nah, they just break internally.
