tracking after lowering

  1. #1
    hi
recently had my west lowered 40mm, now i've heard that after its recommended to get the wheels tracked as lowering can alter the camber, will i get away with not doing it as its only 40mm or is it still recommended?

    cheers

Personally i would matey, i only had mine lowered 40mm and i was rubbing on the drivers side, untill i had tracking done.

I have never heard of that but am interested myself now, i didnt know that during tracking the camber was checked over too.

    Even I knew that...

    So, what's a camber?

can't alter the camber without adjustable top mounts so you just have to live it when lowering i'm afraid. and the change in camber (increased negative camber, the amount depending on how much you're lowered) wouldn't cause rubbing unless either you're lowered about 200mm or you have the wrong offset wheels. tracking is definitely worth doing to get suspension geometry back as close to factory as possible.

Funny how mine was rubbing before i had the tracking done, and stopped after. Offset isnt wrong, standard alloys!

i have had mine lowered for about 6 months now but it has developed shaking at 20mph but as soon as you go over 20mph it stopped,i cant feel it on the pedals, you can just feel the front of the car shake and the gear lever shakes to.
would this be down to it needing the tracking doing?
