266 Brakes on 1.1

    After some searching I haven't got a definitive answer...

    Can 266mm brakes go straight on a 2002 1.1 with standard 14" steels?

    I use to thing that the suspension legs differed meaning that the caliper wont bolt up. But my memory is crap.

    should work, you might need to modify the caliper to fit though.

    bit overkill for a 1.1 / not sure if worth the hassle / if not broken don't fix it etc etc

    will it be necessary unless you plan on upgrading the engine?

    Has had an engine conversion and the brakes desperately need upgrading.

    Standard 1.1 brakes currently. Could do VT brakes, but want a larger disc ideally. Do VT brakes bolt straight onto a 1.1 leg?

    Personally I'd get the VT legs as if I remember rightly the 1.1 don't have the ARB drop link. They do bolt on.
