16v Engine, idles then chucks it??

   From start engine fires runs ok can be reved then 30secs later starts running lumpy and cuts out. It will restart but does the same. While running if you press the throttle it will also cut out mabey even back fire. I changed out plugs as had a set and wanted to rule out no change. This engine started and ran fine previously!
   Any help would be appreciated cheers.

   Sounds to be defo coil pack me and a mate had the same prob ebay have got some after market ones for fifty quid or you could get one from local dealer but every one i called was asking 100+

   If you get a cheap aftermarket one be prepared to buy another in a few months.
   The coilpack is something you should spend the money on tbh

   What condition are the plugs in ie are they soaked in fuel?

   Cheers for reply guys, ok will defo try another coil pack and take it from there. The plugs where not to bad, dry and lighty coated in a black soot. Noticed on number 4 plug the lower part of the white ceramic body was slightly brown. I might be wrong...I thought it may have due to a previous water ingress down the plug tube?
