tem light an fan on

   hi new on here
   
   driving along yesterday an temp light came on an fan but heater works no smoke out exhaust no lose of power any help or advice would be gratful

   I guess check your coolant level? Make sure you have enough and if so, just go for another drive see if it does the same? If so, could be the thermostat has gone

   alredy checked mate still same i touched both rad pipes 1 was hot an 1 was cold could that have anything to do with it cuz i have seen alot about airlock

   As above,if the thermostat has failed and won't open then the engine temp will go up quickly.
   
   What I don't understand though is would you not get cold air blowing through as the coolant circulating through will be cold?

   i fort it was thermostat but the acual temp dont go above half so temp is normal just got light on an fan will change that then see if anything happens.
