Changed engine/gearbox

   Hi all , happy new year .
   I have a vts year 2000 (x plate ) the head gasket went
   And as the gearbox was also on the way out i bought a
   Second hand engine and box via eBay.
   The engine was from a 1997 saxo vts but as
   It had the same one plug Ecu as mine I thought it would be
   Ok . There was a slight difference in the loom so
   After swooping some sensors all was ok .
   The car now runs and drives perfect which is great
   Apart from the gear linkage as the gear stick has that
   Spoon in a bowl of custard feel to it which makes a quick
   Gear change hard work so does anyone know if the gear linkage
   Is different on a mark one to a mark two ?

   Most likely a worn linkage pin, costs about 1.99

   Roll pin part numbers 250924 and there a whopping 32p plus VAT. Upgrade your linkage as well and think about a quickshift.

   All the above,also more importantly get the cambelt changed if you have not already done so mate.

   Thanks for all advice , yep cam belt and water pump done
   And oil service , I will have pins done next week , also what
   Is the best quick shift to buy in your option ? Regards
