Gearbox/clutch problem

Hi, not posted for a while, saxos been pretty good to me haha.

Problem i'm having is the gearbox feels spongy when changing gear, also the clutch feels springy and the biting point is at the top.

It changes gear fine, drives smoothly, no noises either.

Would this be a problem with the gearbox, clutch or both? Someone has mentioned the clutch cable.

Its had a new clutch fitted 2 months ago.

    X reg furio.

    thanks in advance.

Forgot to mention that the clutch pedal has dropped level with the brake pedal also.

Its got a very on/off type feeling on the pedal.

Clutch cable may need adjusting. Do that first and see what the biting points like.

Do the revs build without the car moving at all?

    Cheers for reply.

Will try adjusting tomorrow morning. I know how to physicaly adjust the cable, but is there a certain way it needs to sit?

No, the revs stay as they are.

So you put it in first lift the clutch and the car wants to move alright?

Yeh. It felt like a smooth motion the other day, now it feels like its snapping into gear. Makes for a bumpy gear change.

Check the clutch cable on the gearbox arm isn't catching on anything as theres plenty of bits and pieces to get in the way. Also make sure everything is moving freely.

Like above try adjusting the clutch cable, mine was like that and the it started getting tough trying to go into the gears and then I couldnt select 1st, 2nd and 4th and it would crunch going into reverse as well.
