Oil filter touching mani

   In the process of fitting a 4-2-1 manifold to my mk2 vtr. I've fitted a toyosport manifold which requires me to re-locate the oil filter.
   
   It's all bolted in properly but the oil filter is touching the wrap on the manifold
   
   Any ideas on what to do? Bit stuck on what to do now.

   If you've relocated the oil filter which you've done then shouldn't be touching the filter really.
   
   I'm sure someone will be more clued up though!

   Whip the manifold off & redo the wrapping it shouldn`t look like that mate.

   Cheap manifold!
   
   Use the filter from a Renault clio 1.2 or a Renault 5 gtt half the length of the one you have,

   Thanks for the replies. Is there a specific age clio I would use?
   
   Had a look on euro car parts and the clio filters had a smaller diameter, would that be a problem?

   If you go to somewhere like euro car parts they should be able to find you a filter that fits (i.e. same thread and seal size) but shorter.
   
   Is the filter tight against the manifold or is it just touching the wrap?
   
   On my furio my manifold was close to the filter and the wrap touched. It didn't put any pressure on the filter and was fine for two years.

   It only brushes against the wrap.
   
   They have the same thread but the canister for the clio filter is narrower. Does that matter?

   as bedford says a shorter filter would do.
   In some shots the filter you've used looks slightly longer than the common or garden filters used on these engines but that could just be me

    my toyosports mani was fro mk2 to is no where near oil filter when off you could see it had a huge bend in it to avoid it was this one the same.?
