60-2 trigger flywheel...

  1. #1
does anybody know where the trigger settings are for the 60 - 2 tooth flywheel on a tu series engine?..
at what tooth or between which teeth on the flywheel would the sensor be when the engine is @ TDC ? ..
also where does tooth #1 start on the wheel?.. is it the first missing tooth being one and the second missing tooth being two?.. or is it the first missing tooth being 60 and the second being tooth one?..
  2. #2
doesnt it have a larger gap for TDC position? as you can feel it through the hole below the crank locking hole.
  3. #3
not too sure if the larger gap means that its tdc. and if it was the gap is a bit large to have an accurate reading.. i think the sensor reads all of the teeth to give a sine wave. then the missing tooth give a gap in the wave..
    (a pulse sort of thing)..
this is what gives the reading.. i just need to know what tooth is what in all of this?..
what tooth would the vr sensor be on when the piston #1 is @TDC, what number tooth is where?.....and what are the trigger angles etc?

could you not set the engine at TDC and work it out from there? which tooth is infron of the sensor at that point.

also, is this for a MS? try www.msefi.com they should be able to help you.

i have already tryed there mate... there is a guy with a 205 and he is using a mi16 flywheel. im not sure if they would be the same settings though???..
the wheel he has is also a 60-2. he also has all the settings for his wheels but i dont want to make a mistake

are you on ssc? there is someone called 'fatboy' on there who is fitting a MS to his 16v engine.
do a search for 'megasquirt' as we had a 4 page thread going about it.

it should be the same, since i dont have the omex anymore its hard to find my notes but ive got scribbled 2 missing and mx test = 57

what you got for the mi?
  10. #10
if i remember rightly the one missing tooth is one and then the following is #two.. the last tooth on the wheel being 59 and the last missing one being #60..cant remember the trigger angles just yet but ill send a link or copy and paste..

    Trigger B=35
    Trigger return B=49
    Spark settings:
    Trigger angle=90

here you go. i dont understand it too well but if it looks the same to you mate then give your thumbs up...
    cheers mate
