Spoox sell a top engine mount to level it out. So do constella.

The spoox one is about £130 which i will be getting at some point.

    Ill have a look now

Yeah. don't run the at speed mounts...

I HATED the unlevel engine. Now using a constella mount. Perfectly level.

Is the constella mount just bolt on ?

I can use the atspeed gearbox ones fine, question though, you know the upper one, two large m16 bolts? Or m18. Then what looks like a m8 or m10 allen one. When the allen one is bolted down there is a large gap, i have filled the gap with washers what did you do?

I can also run the constella ecu side one with the other atspeed ones cant i.

There are two ways the lower ecu one can be bolted. Ill get pictures tomorrow i think i have it the right way with the small cut out avoiding the diff casing but it can go the other way the small cut out then avoids the speedo sensor section. I just put it on the same way as the other be box i have.

Best thing to do mate is drop Steph a message here, or phone Constella direct, to ask about their products

Let me know about the price too when you hear back as i maybe interested.
  11. #11
you could very easily place a spacer under the mounting to lift it up.
  12. #12
Nah mate the box is touching the battery bracket area.

so the ecu side needs LOWERING down. which means trimming the engine mount.

and in all honesty i would much rather pay £130 and sell the vibra one for £60 than fuck up a vibra one then have to buy one anyway.

    Logic
  13. #13
    ohhh

sell it all and buy a satchell kit I would.

£400 iirc but the pas side is a whole new weld on part which means cutting off the original one.
  16. #16
Fuck that lol just had the bay painted and put the engine in ill get a constella ecu side one

Satchell kit is 4 mountings, far more equal driveshaft lengths, what's a bit of paint?

and 400 quid i dont have.

and how does the satchell kit change driveshaft lengths or make them "more equal"

    Haha okay.

anyone know anyone who runs them?
  23. #23
Dean I think. You don't want to spend the $$$ anyway??
  24. #24
Depends how tempting the pictures are
  25. #25
why spend all that money on the engine, then skimp on the mounts?!
  26. #26
Well would you call the atspeed setup plus a constella drivera sise one skimping out?

    Yup...

Someone care to explain the benefits so i can justify spending the cash rather than just doing it cause you say so lol

Pleased Jack's put a price - I can't quote on the price as it's part of a few bits and bobs they've done for me.

Is that just for the top one like the spoox one? Pics?
  39. #39
Ditto pix of part and of it fitted. Im thinking a spacer between engine mount and bracket to lower engine may be cheaper.

How much does the engine sit on piss. Looks 10-15mm?
  40. #40
Yes tp be honest if you could get a high strength shim for the 4 bolt arm where it bolts onto the alloy part thats artached to the block that would be better imo.

    Im trying the spoox one.

Btw, bought thw spoox one not the constella, tried to buy the constella one but messaged steph 4 times and she always replied too busy or its 'her second day back be patient' sick of waiting called spoox and he offered me free postage and sent it next day, thats cusyomer service for ya

How does it vary to the atspeed mount?

As far as im aware atspeed dont do a "ecu side" engine mount for the BE4R conversion. they simply tell people to "trim the gearbox casing"

dosnt install much confidence really. if you were to do that you need to make sure it is 100% flat or your going to get high and low spots.

Technically trimming down the gearbox will lift the box up a few mm to match the Ecu side.

But in reality the ecu side needs lowering down to suit. the best thing would be a whole new alloy section. one peice that bolts directly onto the engine.

no fuss, no cutting or chopping.

    But alloy isnt cheap.

If i had time to do so, which i may attempt i will measure the difference in hight on either side and have some shims machined up to go between the engine mount arm and the section that goes onto the block to lower the engine using the original Vibra/baker bm mounts ect..

Like so. but you just have to make sure that the bit above the red section does not foul the cambelt covers.
  43. #43
^^^that is exactly what needs to be done and was my thought straight away.
  44. #44
    Epic engineer me

  45. #45
ohhh, meh, I'll just save up a bit more and get the satchell kit myself.
  46. #46
Just had a look and between that arm and the cambelt cover there isnt even enough room to fit your finger in...

    will think of something
  47. #47
Why not just raise the height of the gearbox mount. Will cost you £0 if you can weld/fabricate. If you cant i can do it for a lot cheaper than these mount kits!
  48. #48
That does work dude but the problem is the more you lift the engine up the more strain is on the driveshafts.

The flatter the better, even if ut is only a few mm

Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  49. #49
Infact if you was going extreme you could weld the ecu side mount on an inch lower

Sent from my HTC One mini using Tapatalk
  50. #50
You have that the wrong way around. If you lower the engine the shaft angles are worse.
  51. #51
    I do. Ignore me.

Cut a hole in the bonnet and raise it 4inch...

Exactly what i am in the process of doing, along with subframe and strut tops to correct wishbone, trackrod and shaft angles

you wont be "lifting" the engine, you'll just be returning it to its original height!

I really need to invest in a welder, and probably teach myself before i start making engine mounts
