tiger seal for window leak?

  1. #1
Having a bit of a nightmare trying to seal my windscreen pillar from a leak. Ive tried silicone and the water has managed to work its way around it from underneath the silicone. Will tigerseal make a better seal around the windscreen?

also can the exterior windscreen rubber seal be removed to put sealant around the outside too?

    thanks

Silicone is the worst thing you can use. It rots the bond away and makes it worse. Scrape as much of it off as you can and yes you can use tiger seal

Also the trim gets put on before the windscreens fitted so you might be better off doing it from the inside

oh really?? is that the case for most clear/black waterproof sealants?

Is tigerseal the best thing to use for sealing a window?

Why don't you get some windscreen seal?

Most clear stuff aye. If you use windscreen glue youll need primers so tiger seals probably your best bet

Must be annoying with that shit weather, and more coming up..

yes! incredible annoying. Moreso that i need a dry day ideally to do it. Ive sealed it today and taped a black bag to the outside to stop rain getting in while it dries.

Hopefully i wont need a towel to catch rain water anymore

Was it a replacement screen done by a company or just started leaking?
  11. #11
a replacement screen a couple years back by a previous owner

A gaurantee is only with the owner of the vehicle at the time the screen was replaced.

I did this to my old 1.4. Removed that rubber surround. Sealed it up with tiger seal. Try and get it under the screen. Just fired load in all round the screen
Put rubber surround back before it dried.
    Stopped leak.
