    Evening All

I'm planning on getting my VTS cammed in the next couple of weeks and I've been reading up on old threads so I get it all set up nicely I read that if you put new followers in when you cam one of else engines it ''makes for a stronger engine'' no additional power but it will make it run better.

The only problem is I haven't got the faintest idea what followers are or were to get a hold of them!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

wow! do many of you bother replacing them at that price?

Not really. Maybe on an epic revving engine that sees 8k rpm all day it'd be worth it.

I've certainly not replaced mine with new ones just low mileage second hand ones.

ah thats alright then! im looking at rebuilding my j4 with cat cams 743's and was a bit worried that the cam wouldn't lift to its max on the old followers!

I have always fitted new followers with new cam shafts, and I wouldn't want to take them to 8k rpm, not standard ones.

Wow didn't think they'd be that much! I'm paying the same for the camshafts themselves!

I fitted new followers with new cams - then would run them in together to make sure they wore together as a pair.

I'm sure for the price of things nowadays, wearing out parts more quickly or replacing broken parts is cheaper than fitting all new stuff.

I always keep the followers matched to the cam lobe when stripping any head down
