How easy is it to do this? Found some alloys on ebay. How much would it be likely to be if i would to get them done at a garage? Cheers

most garages charge £40 that i asked at, my mates garage did it for me for £30, when i lived in a city and went to a big tire/exhasut place the boss was hardly ever there so they did things like that for a fiver or tenner especially if both sets of wheels were off the car and it was a quick job where the car doesnt have to come in

one place i went to wanted £1 per inch plus VAT so for a set of 15" wheels it would be £15 a corner so £60 plus VAT at 20% so that worked out at like £72!!! and they looked at me offeneded when i laughed in their face, and that was with the wheels with no tyres in the boot so the car didnt have to be put on a ramp or jacked up no tyres needed to be taken off such an easy job f**king cowboys

Yeh some saturday mornings you can get it done cheaper if you pay cash as they put it in their pocket.

    Otherwise £10 a wheel usually.

I do that cash in hand, no way I'd pay more than 5 quid a corner. That includes fitting, new valve and balanced. Absolutely no way I'd pay 40 quid for a ten minute job.

Local scrapyard (to me) will change customers own tyres for £6 a pop., including balancing, buy can't balance alloys on VTR/VTS (as they don't have the adaptor to allow the balancing machine to do them)
