Clunking from the rear

  1. #1
Right,my saxo had a refurbed axle before I bought it which was sweet

So I've never paid much attention to the clunking noise from the rear, until now

I've been experiencing noises from here, there and everywhere

The problem I was having with noises from the front had me trying to work out exactly where the noises were coming from etc,and I then noticed there was a similar clunking from the rear.....

    So what could it be?

Its worse in and around the village, same as the front really, only makes it at slower speeds, well its more noticeable at these speeds.

I'd definitely be worried if I heard a clunking from my rear!

Aside from constipation,I would check the shock absorber mounts(ie bolts)

the exhaust backbox a bit loose
or the anti roll bar worked loose

I originally thought it was movement from the exhaust, hence why I never paid much attention to it.Then the same clunking noise was coming from the front and I'm not so sure its all related to the exhaust but I'll have a look to see.

grab the shock absorbers with your hands and see if there's any play. While you're down there you can also wobble the exhaust and find out if it's your problem or not.
