Important! : 1.6 Auto. Not pulling well / Juddering

  1. #1
My Saxo SX 1.6 Auto has just started playing up.
When I'm pulling away, or going uphill, It doesn't seem to have the power.
it seems like the gears don't engage like they should, so in order to get up the hill, I'm revving the hell out of it & it starts to judder at the front.
I recently had an ATF leak but this has been fixed + reverse seems fine, so I'm at a loss whats causing it.

    Thanks in advance

Sounds like your low on fluid

My gearbox fluid levels are ok

Sounds like the clutches in the gearbox are slipping.another thing to try is drain out the gearbox fluid, change the filter & fill with fresh fluid.

I did have a gearbox leak sorted about 3-4 weeks back, so the fluid should be OK. Just got back home & had to flog it to get up the hill & there's a bit of a burning smell. Hope it's not an expensive problem otherwise it'll be beyond economic repair.

Burning smell doesn`t sound good, check for leaks again.

Def no leaks. No marks on parking areas. Levels seem fine.
Doesn't like to go into 1st-2nd gears so having to flog to get up hills

Garage say's it's bad, so it's eBay or scrappers unless anyone here wants to make an offer.

You would be better off breaking for parts,a recon box would set you back £1200.
