De wipering booboo

  1. #1
Just dewipered my car and had to draw for the hacksaw to get the nuts etc off as the blade was stuck.
All well and good, wiper is off and gromet is in...then when drying it all off I notice loads of small scratches on the WINDOW where i had been sawing, it wasnt the blade that caused them it was the handles...so they are not very deep.
Is there anything that could sort these as I have tried t cut and polish so far and they wont budge.
    Cheers

You need something slightly more abrasive. Tooth paste is pretty good, I cleaned my lights weeks ago and they came out pretty good.

yes toothpaste is good. you can also get a scratch repair kit for glass off ebay.
Not sure how pricey they are. My father bought one a few years back did the job.

    i love seeing a good de-wipering f**k up lol

best one is where the hacksaw cuts through the paint on the boot ha or the inevitable "I smashed my rear window"

    Lol, In7el springs to mind.

I don't know how people fuck it up so bad. I did one a few years ago on my 1.1 with no probs - just undid all the bolts and it literally fell off! I have to do my gti next week so hopefully I don't have to get the chainsaw on it

Personally, I find though, the easiest way to de-wiper a saxo is to go to Knowsley drive through safari.
Pull it away from the window, so it's sticking out, and the monkeys will to the rest.

The can be tight and a pain to get off I've done mine but putting the wiper back on now looks better without it but sick of washing my car and then next day rear window dirty as hell.

It was all well and good until i come to take the wiper off itself, it had just ceased up and wouldnt budge, even after an hour of wd40 being on it

I think I read something about dewipering a car with a hacksaw before, and how it went wrong.

I do enjoy a good de wipering mess up story.

Although, you've got NOTHING on In7el, His was utterly brilliant.
