Cigarette Lighter

I'm in the middle of replacing my cigarette lighter..

I have tried everything to get the bloody thing out but it won't budge, basically I got pissed off with it and beat the shit out of it in an attempt to remove it, but it defeated me again. Any help?

Here is how it's been left..

Maybe take the dash console out might give you a bit more room? Just a guess

So I eventually got it out, a hammer or two later... now I can't work out how to wire it up, I've wired the lighting up correctly, but I don't know how to get power to the actual unit it's self.. Any Ideas?

There's 3 wires going into it one lights it,one provides power, the other wire is an earth, run two cables into one spade connector coming from the lighter, then a female spade connector from the loom to it.the other earth connector connect to the cars earth wire.

Thanks for that! I'll try and get my head round that.

So I am running my power and illumination from the old connections for the light.

Then a power and earth for the actual lighter connected to it via spade connectors?

See your pic cut the connector off the red wire,on the back of the new ciggy unit there's a + spade connector run a length of cable from it.bare the red cable and the new length of cable, twist both lengths of cable together to make one, then put a connector on of your choice and join it to the power from the car.

The black from the new ciggy unit connect this to the existing earth of the ciggy loom.hope it all makes sense,in reality it's easier to do than explaining it lol.
