Vts wont fire up with a tap on the throttle, doesnt idle

   As per title. Bought the vts 01 a year ago and always had an idle that would rev more then drop then rev up and drop. Recently took the bay apart for a respray. The idle was then very lpy and the whole engine would rock cleaned the icv didnt work. Swapped in a spare tb i had sitting. The idle was perfect. Started the car later that day then it was back to the lumpy idle.
   
   Now it turns but wont fire up unless i give it some throttle, it dies when i lift off. When it gets warmer it just about holds idle. Changed map sensor. No joy
   
   Anyone any ideas. Give me a list of thing to change so i can work from or something lol completely stuck

   My 97 1.1 Saxo is showing similar signs, once the engines got some heat in it idles smooth but on a cold morning im sat with my foot on the pedal to keep her running.
   
   I did wonder about a fuel filter, going to pick one up soon and see if thats any better.

   @tarzan you may wanna check your idle valves positioning, I had random cutouts and starting issues and fixed it by resetting it.
   
   Heres what I did - ignition wait 10s, off, ignition wait 10s, off, ignition wait 10s, start and was fine!
   
   Some have also mentioned disconnecting the battery for 30mins+

   Icv try resetting it(ignition on/off 6 times without starting the car)check the crank sensor & tps.
