Engine problem! Help!

Was driving along the other day, began to accelerate and the car started to loose power. Over the next 10 minutes it began to sound like a lawn mower and required more acceleration to climb slight inclines.

Got it home, can't find any blows in manifold or exhaust system. Have changed to a brand new coilpack with new plugs. Weirdly enough 1 of the manifold branches feels cold opposed to the other 3 hot after idling.

Really stuck on this one and can't find any related problems.

    Thanks in advance.

Definitely getting spark on the cold cylinder? If so then it's more than likely fuel or lack of it

Dead/stuck injector? That's what it was on my quiksilver when that randomly quit one day.

Pretty sure there is a spark, can test again but can't see there not being one with new plugs and coilpack. Your suggesting a blockage in fuel lines?

Injectors could be a point, did you have the same symptoms?

Move a good injector from one of the working cylinders to the bad one and see if it follows the dodgy injector about

Yup pretty much. Bombing along and then started to drop off in terms of revs, tried to compensate by using more throttle but no go. Had to nail it to get it to move and it sounded terrible (kinda like a 2 stroke) and wouldn't pull more than about 35-40mph. Nursed it to a lay by and at idle it sounded like it had a massively blown exhaust. Turned out to be a completely dead injector that was stuck shut.

Replaced the whole set so they were matched and it was fine after that. Someone had previously bodged it and only replaced 2 out of 4 so I suspect that had something to do with it.

    Thanks for your input guys.
She's happy again now, was the injector as above.
