Manifold/Lambda sensor querie

  1. #1
Hi guys, I have a querie, i have a piper 4-1 manifold for my mk2 vtr. The manifold has one lambda sensor hole, if I put the manifold on and plug in the pre cat lambda and wat do I do with the post cat sensor? Will this make the car lumpy ? And the lambda hole I have is at the back of manifold where the exhaust joins so the pre cat lambda surely won't reach? Is the only way to cut cables and lengthen sensor wires?

Any help and opinions welcome cheers

    I have the same setup
    Here is what to do:

Take the pre car sensor - run it down the back of the engine - keeping it out of the way of the gear linkages - you'll have to take it out of the wiring loom - no cutting of cables required
    It will reach that way
Put a sleeve (See Kam Racing) on the post cat sensor and hide it away from wheel arches/openness where it is susceptible to water!

    Jobs a good'n

cheers mate, will i be able to do that with out cutting into any sleeving holding all cables together etc ?

Might have to give the pre cat lambda wiring sleeving a snip - just so it's got a little extra to reach down the back of the engine - but don't need to remove the sleeving or cut any wires at all'

ok cheers mate i should be ok then - main worry was that putting this manifold on and not having both sensors functioning properly i was concerned that the car might start to encounter running issues or just generally run a bit lumpy where as it runs sweet as a nut at the moment.

i have a saxsport waiting to go on and been told its sounds shit untill cat manifold has been changed for de cat lol

Only the pre cat sensor affects fueling etc, the post cat one is basically there to check the "cat" is working

Ahh ok that's what I was hoping
