Lowering my desire 1.1

   Ive got some alloys on their way this weekend and have already faced the fact that they will look stupid if my car isnt lowered, so I was wondering whats the easiest and cheapest way of doing this? Had a look over the internet and it looks like coilovers would be the way to go?
   Any help with this?

   Lowering springs for the front would surely be the cheapest. And the back is one way and one way only...lower the torsion bars which is usually a huge pain

   Budget wise it wouldnt be a lot at all, £100 nearer the top end of what id be spending.

   Most likely not if it involves much doing as im a complete novice, but I could give it a go.

   You can save money by stripping the struts off yourself. That's why I do, take the struts off run them to a garage and the put new springs on for a few quid.

   Yeah good idea, would i need to buy the parts myself or would they have them at the garage?

   If you are good at this sort of thing it will cost you a pair of front springs (£50-100) and that's it.
   Personally I wouldn't touch a torsion bar myself, but if you are mechanically minded then give it a go. Just expect it to be seized as fuck!
