Important! : Saxo vts flashing key doesn't start

  1. #1
Hi everybody today I was working in my saxo and I was fitting engine mounts quikshift and gear lincages. After I finished i was stuck with the problem of not starting and the key flashing.

What's the problem and how to fix it? I really need to get it run by tommorow.

Engines got to be running for that to work though. Check for loose connections in the wiring or loom first off, if it worked before it should again

Mine was behind the fuse box inside the car up in the top corner, it's about the same size a fag packet

Yes it worked but now it doesn't and I don't know the problem. I had it one time but it started after a minute.

BTW if I disconnect the box when I have the ignition on maybe then its going to be OK?

I thought the ignition just had to be on to remove the imobilizer and the engine did not have to be running ?

I think it should be OK but maybe somebody can explain otherwise. BTW can a Citroen dealer make my car to run?

Some times it can be the pick up ring near the steering lock give that a tap it may work
  13. #13
i will try and if it does work i will disable immobilizer by disconnecting the black box if not i will try to disconnect when the car will be in the ignition.

Bump... The car still don't start tried everything Friday I go to the dealer and try to fix it there. Can somebody tell me can they unlock the ecu because I think I mess it up and locked it. Because my fuel gauge is going from zero to full multiple times and the screen that show the milage is blinking too.

When you turn the key the dash lights light up including the red light for the temperature gauge mate.
  18. #18
You clearly disturbed a earth doing the gear linkages, check the gearbox 2 earths & the one that runs up to the chassis.

People saying you locked the ecu are clueless.

OK thanks cam I will check. And can it show the IMO light and the red light up in the temp gauge?

The red light for the temp gauge has nothing to do with the flashing key symbol.
  21. #21
Yea but when the car broke it was flashing key simbol and the red light on ignition.

Your going to get ripped off because its not the ecu
  25. #25
    So what to do?

Because now when I put the ignition the fuel gauge goes back and forth and the screen on the dash when it shows the oil blinks.

All the signs of a bad earth or dodgey connector.
  28. #28
Listen to Cam, check all you earth connections.

I did it and they were fine. When i whent for diagnostics the guy sayd that some wires in the loom was dammaged and when he fix those wires the car started like normal. btw now i have a problem my fuel gauge and my oil temp gauge is showing nothing. and on ignition the fuel gauge goes empty to full few times.

Mayme it could be a fuse but were to find the right one because i have no manual.
