What tools are required and how do you ensure engine is in TDCP before doing any work?
    Thanks

A 6mm allen key to lock the flywheel.

Sorry never mentioned I'm taking the head off so does it still have to be done via flywheel or can it be done by the pulleys? Thanks

TDC only relates to piston position, that's why you lock the fly.

You should lock the cam pulleys too its an 8mm tool or you can use an M8 bolt if you don't have the tools. The idea is that when the fly is locked you should be able to slot the 8mm tool into both cam pulleys.

You'll feel the hole in the crankshaft and the 6/8mm bolt/allen key will just slot in. as for the camshaft, just make sure that the hole on the wheel is lined up with the hole in the head and you'll be fine . (Happen to have down a head gasket myself!)
