First post to saxperience and its for a fault ...
Bought a 1.6 mk1 vtr and was amazing for a few days but now I have a few things that have gone wrong and stopped working.
List being: Battery light on dash is faint
Indicators make loud buzz noise when trying to use
Power steering (works if you rev it to 2k+)
Windows (works if u rev it...same as above)
    Stereo wont turn on

Would be great if someone could help me, and pictures on solving the problem would be even better!!!

Take it to Alford's for a free test then pay a tenner on here to access the premium membership and the for scale section.there's usually someone breaking a Saxo and you'll save money on an alternator.

Should have had it tested before buying a new one.

check earth connections? Recently had to fix someone's car on which the battery terminal was split.

I have the same symptoms but windows, power steering and everything electrical works just like normal only thing is when you try to operate one of the two above you can hear a whine coming from the engine bay, likely to be the alternator, trying to fix this if i find out something i'll update my post.

If your alternator has been buggered, it may have buggered your battery too.. Happened with my mums clio.. Alternator died, which in turn had killed off the battery!

Yep if the voltage regulator has gone then it may have overloaded the battery.

A faulty alternator can drain a battery even with the ignition off, afain you need the ignition on for the scanner to work.

Yes our launch diagnostic machine will turn on if the ignition is off will even boot up. Just won't connect to the ecu.
