266mm calipers = what pads?

  1. #1
Such is the slow progress of my build, I bought some advertised as 266mm calipers off E-Bay (yeah, yeah, I know the calipers aren't 266mm but you know what I mean.)

Now it's time to come and get discs and pads, I see there are different pads for these calipers, I assume 266mm disc will fit all? Is there an easy way to identify what calipers I have, and what pads I need? (other than trial and error at a factors etc)

    Cheers

*edit* I'm not after makes, I just want to make sure I get right shape pads for my calipers.

Depends what car they came off, if you post a picture of the calipers they can be identified by the stamp markings and the shape. Lucas, Bosch Type 1 and Type 2.

As for the Pads, I went for Ferodo DS2500 and Mintex Discs.

I'll get a picture of them in the morning then, any reference numbers on them I should be looking for?

They look bigger than my VTS calipers, and they were advertised as 266mm (not that it'll be 100% they are)

indeed, don't forget there's also two types of 266mm disc.

my approach would be to see how they bolt up over your current discs.

This is the problem, my old discs are long gone.

Looking at the 106Owner link, mine aren't type two, which eliminates the disc (hopefully) and there's two bolts on the back (just uploading the picture) which I would be led to believe are type 3?
