need bit of advice on a car decision

   Hi what it is is my gf has a fezzy zetec s 06 plate.but her boss has said he will get her a new car in her name so the car will be hers after 3 years. Hes given her a budget of 13 to 14 grand so we had a look at ford and she likes the new fiesta but can only afford the 1.0 one on that budget, its 100 bhp which aint bad for a 1.0, the engines are only 3 cylinder though.had a look at 0-60 time its about 10 half secs which isnt far off the car she has n. So do you think it would be a step down from what she has engine wise??. Thats the only thing bothering me really just because its small. So what would you do???.

   Yes it has to be brand new, we asked about second hand nearly new but he wants her to buy new. Weve looked at most other options but my gf wasnt too keen on them. Any suggestions may help though cheers.

   the new 3 cylinder fords are also turbo mate. my dads been looking at getting 1 great fuel economy and not to slow.

   Yea their the ecoboost ones. The st is only a 1.6 now but with turbo on. They do a 125 bhp 1.0 version and a normal 1.0 which is 100 bhp must have a turbo on it. Just wasnt sure on getting it as its a 1 litre. Her boss has managed to get the price down to 13 and a half. It was over 15 i think. i think she is going to get it and sell the zetec s for around 4 grand. Cant really turn a free car down, maybe if it was a kia or somethin lol.

   I rented a car to drive to Aberdeen few month back and they give me one of those 1.0 Eco boost focus', I was impressed by it! Although I also rented a focus diesel with a 6 speed gear box, and that was much better! Better fuel economy and acceleration

   I'd be looking at a DS3 Dstyle 120 manual, or a 90 hdi, hdi will be free car tax.

   I had an Ecoboost (125bhp) for a few days last week, I was well impressed.
   Plenty of torque through the whole rev range and very driveable.
   I did find it to be a little laggy down bottom, but i just took into consideration that the engine is only a 1.0.
   
   I'd have one of these if i were in the market for a new small car.

    Does anyone know what the 100 bhp one goes like. Would it be the equivilent of the zetec s she has now speed wise?

    Why does everyone care about speed on an eco car? If youre gonna drive it quick it wont be economical. Also the roads are too busy now.
