gearbox problem

   my vtr mk2 gearbox 5th gear gotta slight whine at between 35-40mph what is wrong with it is the box on way out any help peeps ? these cars a pain in the ass lol

   Syncro gone by the sounds of it. You could try changing the oil, might help.
   
   Other than that it's a rebuild ot a new box.

   what's the syncro if dont mind me asking pal and it's not too loud thow u can only hear it if windows closed and stereo is off

   sound pal gunna have to do Sumat with it having to many problems might have to go back to the 106 or my 306.

   will give it ago soon might just need that as iv done at least 3-4000 miles with the lil whine and gearbox seems fine goin into gears and that.

   It's a cheap thing to try, only 2l of oil will be about 12 quid or so and 20 mins to change if that

   yh I will have a look at that pal can't go wrong for that price and at least it's being changed even if doesn't solve it I know people selling gearboxes on eBay for about £70
