I have just bought a 2000 vtr which has a knocking noise on the front left wheel, im told it might be something to do with the wishbone or ball joint as it is a continuous knocking when driving.... can anyone give me some advice please??

#2Sounds like driveshaft if its continuous when driving...but yeah could also be the wish bone or even top mount bush and bearings
-
#3do you know if this knocking noise will cause it to fail its mot??
-
#4Could be a drop link bar or ball joint that's wat it sounds like too me , if it's drop link the that can effect mot

#5Not 100% sure, I wouldnt have thought so, definitely be an advisory though I'd say, especially if its a bush, theyll pick up on it and put it as an advisory. Im not 100% sure though tbh, really depends what the knocking noise is I guess

#8found out the problem a knackerd top mount thats all but gonna do the bearings while im at at.. also does anyone know if a loose thrust bearing or clutch release bearing fail an mot as my clutch makes a bit of noise when disengaged... also is this easy enough to fix (im fairly mechaniclly minded, done loads of motorbikes).
