Would a saxo vtr mk2 tailgate fit a mk1?

   I had my rear window smashed and got told it would be easier to replace it by getting a whole new tailgate. I've found one on eBay for a mk 2 saxo vtr but I've for a mk1 1998 saxo vtr. I was just wondering if the mk2 tailgate would fit on my mk 1? It's the only one I've found in the same colour
