Brake pads not lasting

  1. #1
About 2 months ago I had to change the brake pads as one side had completely gone. The two sides where different makes so I guessed that the person before had only changed one side at a time.. As the the side was completely fine.. Then about 2 weeks ago I started to hear rumbling noises from the side that the brake pad went last time.. The noise only happend if I was going above 60mph and braking then would stop once I got to 30-40mph. Since then it's just getting lower and lower now it starts at 40mph. And I think that side brake pad has now gone as I can hear the pads grinding on the discs.. But I don't understand how that side is going through brake pads so fast?
Any help would be great thanks

Sounds like it could be a partially or possibly now a fully seized calliper pushing the pads on to the disc.

As above and you only change brake pads as a front pair,ie not one side and the other side say 3 months later.out of interest what make are the pads?

+1 for what he said about changing as pairs, you should never change pads on a single side.

I never changed one side.. The previous owner did. When I changed them about 2 months ago I changed them as a pair and the make was Delphi

could be a warped disc causing excessive wear or as said above the caliper binding on.

You can feel a warped disc when driving, so I'd bet on a seized caliper. And yes obviously you change pads in pairs.
