vts water

   hi my vts temp gauge doesn't work and it goes wild after 5 minz. I keep loosing water not a lot though. could I have an air lock??. iv cheeked the rocker covers no cream what so ever so its not the head gasket . and the sensor on the side of the head nothing comes out I thought a bit of water would but nothing.
   
   any ideas ?

   Meanwhile you could try to make sure there is not any air lock in the system by opening the 3 valves you'll find near the radiator top hose,on the thermostat and near the ecu tray,there's a good guide on here also that you can look at.

   Try bleeding it, if not would be thermostat stuck closed or water pump is knacked or could be a blockage somewhere in the system

   how can I tell the water pump is knacked ?

   Open the rad cap when cold and give the car a rev then let it drop back to idle. Do this a couple of times and when doing so look in the filler neck of the rad if the level drops a tad generally means the water pump is working
