I have a 2003 vtr with a 2000 vts engine with a 52 plate vts loom. all sensors been changed so the 52 plate loom fit the engine all is good. every things runs as it should. when I start my car the temp gauge red light flashes once and goes of. I leave it running for 30 minz its still on the bottom (not moved up ) no fans or anything. I left it to cool down and did it again but I unplugged the temp sensor straight away the fans kick in and temp goes half way. ( cars only been on 2 minz so its still cold) and fans keep going and going ect. I plug it back in and fans stop and temp gauge goes to bottom. I don't get it. help plz

I thinks the engine loom might be fuked I duno

iv had the coolant done no air lock 100%
    head gasket is fine 99%
    no leaks on pipe100%
changed the temp sensor 3 times

    any ideas

At a guess either a break in the loom,or a faulty gauge.

my reply is "i dont give a fuck if you wish to scrap your car, do you need the work doing?"

    and to be a help

    1. breaks in the loom
    2. sure the temperature plugs are on the right way?
    3. where have you got these 3 temperature sensors from?
    4. what sensors are they from? the early type engine or the later type?

Quite agree the op has done the hard part installed the engine & got it running, then for the sake of a £15.00 sensor wants to bin it.I really don`t understand some people.
