Flashing key symbol on dash?

   recently my car hasnt been starting, what happens is it turns over and over but wont fire up it only happens when i have the flashing key on the dash, for some weird reason when i turn the lights on and start the car the flashing key is not there and it starts up fine. what is the flashing key symbol on the dash? thanks

   Immobiliser.
   
   Not sure why turning lights on would help. Possibly a transponder issue?

   Immobiliser
   
   When the car is running you want to disconnect the immobiliser and you'll have no more problems. Although you'll not have an immobiliser any more.
