Fuck Indicators

  1. #1
So my car has had a lot of issues with the electrics, blowing the indicator/hazard light/stereo fuse consistently, and I kept putting off going to an auto electrician. Booked it in today, found the "problem" and fixed it, got told it was the left indicator shorting out in the back, fucking over the moon, finally fixed!
    NOPE
Something happened on the way home, stereo cut out and no more blinkers, words cannot describe my rage as it happened..

I don't know if anyone has any sort of solutions or experience in this department? Genuinely throwing a wild card and hoping someone has some intel on this. I'm going back tomorrow to talk about refunding me, because well nothing changed, but I'm not even close to thinking about having them check the car over again, it's too damn expensive

You need somebody to go through the electrics with a meter, must be a bad earth or a broken wire somewhere

Do you know how hard/time consuming it would be? I've no clue how it works, but it's just the one fuse that keeps blowing, so surely there's only so much wiring to be checked?
Had a new window fitted this week too, money is just flooding into this car atm and haven't got any spare to tidy up the bodywork, frustrating

You didn't use your electric windows at all did you?

Also, consider fitting a 15A fuse instead of 10

If yours occasionally work it should be a relatively simple fix! Mine just stop working due to dodgy earthing and or something shorting out the fuse causing it to blow

It's not even like I can just replace the fuse now, because it's something else

Okay so I thought it might be my stereo doing something to trip the fuses, so I took out the indicator relay, replaced all the blown fuses and went for a drive just with the stereo on for half an hour ish. Not one fuse blew
So could this mean my relay is possibly dodgy? I'm getting closer...

Only one way to tell and that's swap the relay over for a known working one.

Oh don't worry my old man's been trying to drum that into my head haha! Don't get me wrong, I'm only a bit of a wanker, if there's cars behind me and I need to do a sudden turn I resort to the oldschool method

there on the same circuit apparantly, when hazard corrodes abit doesnt make a full connection circuit or something. cost me alot to find was easy in end
