So I have a 2002 saxo vts temp gauge not working on dash so checked fuse ok replaced sensors on thermostate housing there is two sensors on thermostate housing replaced both of them still no joy just does not wanna work is there anything else I can try

however what baffles me is when cold on the morning when i start car it sits on half way were it should sit then slow goes down as u run car haha its like the opposite to what it should be doing

Could be a fault with the temp gauge itself,or a break in the wiring.

I had the same problem, it turned out to be a loose connection on the back of the clocks.

iv tried some other clocks and it did the same iv also tried another loom and it did the same

Is there not a test you can do with the sensor that makes the temp gauge needle move?

A way of indicating whether the problem lies with the gauge itself or not......I can't remember what it is.

but the car used to be a vtr

Can only think of removing the sensor leaving it attached to the loom, then putting power through the sensor, only a random guess though.

Erm think, power going from the sensor to the gauge?if everything is working as it should then it should trigger the gauge.

iv been told there's a green temp sensor and a blue temp sensor what's the difference

Green is for the ecu, blue is for the temp gauge.

Yeah as above, should cause the gauge to move either all the way to the top or something like that.

Think it proves its not gubbed.

    PN53GUD

did you ever get to the bottom of the problem you were having with the temp gauge?

I only ask as i am having the same problem!!

If it used to be a VTR I'd say someone hasn't wired it up correctly while doing conversion

i ended up putting vtr clocks into my 106 quick silver and i have the same problem, temp gauge reads halfway from cold and moves down as it warms up
