    Guys, need help.

My car is making some awfull noises and drives like shite...

*Has a high pitched squeeling noise at any speed, quicker with speed, if you jump on and off the throtle if will start and stop, does this in or out of gear, left or right turns, sounds like metal on metal rubbing, uneffected if braking or not, I think this is wheel bearings?

*Knocking over any sort of bump in the road and feels really loose- Wishbones?

*Found CV grease all over the passenger side front wheel bout a month ago, this is when the noises started. Fucked drive shaft?

Im I in the right sort of area?

How much work is wheel bearings and or drive shaft change? 2003 VTR BTW?

    Thanks for your help.

Just have a proper at everything with the car jacked. Grab the wheel at 12 and 6 and rock it back and forth and check for play. Get a bar in there as well and check other components

    Check all rubbers/ bushes etc

Grease everywhere would def indicate a split cv boot

Your driveshaft will be fucked, if it's ran dry for a while then it'll be past the point of no return. The sound your hearing probably is the driveshaft your wheel bearings could be ok.

Ball joints sound knackered, your best off replacing the wishbones. However, it could also be the top mounts, top mount bearings, dampners, drop links etc.

Job itself is alright, I done the lot not long ago. A garage will probably charge a few quid as it's a bit labour intensive so it's well worth having a go yourself.

When you put another shaft on replace the oil seal. Check out J&R driveshafts.
