Local scrappy gave me a rear beam from mk1 vtr already lowered with calipers and disks, two front struts with spax lowering springs and dampers for £140 all looked good and working so went for it. spent today fitting the struts all went well except drive shafts popping out of gear box
and pissing oil everywhere. i just wanna know will the rear beam of mk1 vtr fit my 1.1 desire brake lines seam to be in a similar place soo hoping its a straight swap. i have taken my hand brake cables out of the drums and they seam to be in the right place for a straight swap anyone else had any experience in this im hoping tomorrow my car will finally be slammed

#2Cant 100% remember brake lines i think it was pretty much the same. You will need new handbrake cables for discs as the ends are different and simpy dont fit
-
#3my handbrake cables from 1.1 fit the disc brakes fine...
-
#4I'm looking at a rear beam atm for my 1.1. The one i'm looking at has disc's + is lowered with apex shocks (comes with discs + shocks). How hard is it swapping the 1.1 axle for the disc axle ?

#5Corsadesroyer.. A mate is breaking a VTR with a very good disk beam in Wolverhampton.
I can pass you're details on if you like? -
#6simple job really mate, just stick some stands under the axle after taking handbrake cables and brake lines of then undo the four bolts and its out, pretty simple
-
#7the rest is practically in reverse order however new handbrake cables are needed as i learnt
