Saxo 1.1 - couple of problem

   Hi all,
   
   First problem is with my speedo.
   It works 90% of the time, but from time to time, it raises to 45mph and stays there unless i hit a bump in the road, or i hit the plastic behind the steering wheel.
   
   Second problem is my driver windows. The other month i left for work in the early hours, and my window was frosted over. I made a stupid mistake and tried winding my window down, but the ice was to much and now my handle just goes round and round without the window moving. If i apply pressure directly onto the handle while turning it, it do go down a few inches.
   
   But then I'm left with an half open window which i can only close by using my hands and pulling it up.
   
   I've removed the door panel to find the coil and plastic casing was hanging on. After 45mins and not being to see what i was doing, i managed to clip the casing back on, but the window still don't go down

   ive got a 1.1 im breaking for parts if your interested its got electric windows though
   maybe a nice upgrade

   As for the speedo thing, just sounds like the needle is catching on the paper/plastic that has all the numbers on etc. just take it apart and make sure the paper is correctly lined up and press back. Maybe try a dab of glue to hold it there

   You have rounded off the splines on your window winder.
   
   Don't worry, remove the cap and undo the screw. get some super glue in there (or araldite is what I use) and then screw it back on and leave it to set. I mean, if the casing looked okay and clipped back in? I don't see what else it could be.
   
   Speedo could be a number of things, first check that the connector is fully housed in the sensor on the back of the gearbox, usually a large white connector with 3 pins. Make sure the sensor itself isn't just floating about, it should be secured by a 10mm bolt.
   
   OR the speedo in the cluster has failed/some other electrical fault/backing touching the needle (as above)

   Could be a loose connector behind the dash.
