Lower boot floor

   Ive removed my spare wheel and now the back bumper is acting as a parachute to the air flow that goes under the car. I was wondering has anyone made a lower boot floor thats flat to smooth air flow? Could I make one using simply some MDF or something?
   I want something to smooth the air flow, I'm not fussed about it being super duper light but something not too heavy would be good!

   Be aware of the fire risk from the exhaust, careful with your choice of material, that's all I've got!

   Lol yeah I had thought of that! will just cut the material around the exhaust kind of thing and will use something to reflect the heat, although it shouldn't be much of a fire hazard but will still take some precaution

   MDF on the outside will never work as it absorbs water like a motherfucker then pretty much turns cardboardy.
   
   Just keep the cage and chuck a spare wheel in it. Making a new lower floor would not be easy.

   Could use the tape that people wrap exhaust with and a bit of radiator foil? Think it's insulated, heat reflective stuff, like tin fill!

   MDF or some sort of wood, could treat it and paint it?

   Haha yeah i was thinking something along that line I was thinking some exhaust foil stuff

   I bet this seriously makes little to no difference with the wheel not being there. Why not just cut the bumper to let the air through?

    This is interesting, I've got no spare wheel either and would like a go at making some sort of diffuser to push the air under the bumper. You could make it out of an aluminium sheet and paint it with hi temperature paint? Something along those lines? I'm sure aluminum would be lighter than a big MDF sheet under the car

    Tbh mate it won`t make a blind bit of difference i`ve seen people drill holes in the rear bumper & frankly it serves no purpose & looks stupid.

    Cutting the bumper == cost sod all for the similar effect and less weight.
