   Going to change my oil filter and oil, was wondering what oil people would recommend?

   for a saxo, 10w40 castrol is more than fine. ASDA very often puts castrol on sale for dirt cheap.
   
   Personally I use Fuchs titan.

   even asdas own oil would do the job, if it meets the specs then it'll be fine

   If you can get the castrol during a sale it's the better deal, otherwise yes, asdas own brand is rebranded Comma, and exactly the same as halfords own brand.

   I've always found you need to be quick with asda, round by at least they've never got any 10w40 when its down to £12-14. Sells out super fast, but theres always the other grades they do left

   of course it sells like hotcakes, most car forums make threads when it goes on sale so people will rush for it and even buy in advance.
   
   Another good deal is uniparts' 10w40, £20 for 5L and the oil is made by Fuchs.

   I usually use Castrol GTX 10w 40,get a good oil filter too like MANN,they are very cheap from Euro Car Parts.
