accelerator cable

    changing my 8v to a 16 valve engine
    just wondering if I can yous the existing accelerator cable or are they different

    Yes you can use the existing cable iirc, you will need to alter it by moving the adjustable pin so that you get the correct pedal travel. otherwise the throttle won't shut OR you won't get full open throttle.

    I thought you needed a new cable or some cable length and ends cut to size?

    What we need, is a list of RHD cable lengths... lol

    Use a gear cable from a pushbike, very easy and works

    Martin, what's this pin that needs moving? Do you mean the round cylinder on the cable that fits into the throttle body itself?
    And year mountain bike gear cable is a darn sight cheaper than oem!

    16v cables are longer, when I did my conversion I tried to use the 8v cable but it was too short. Hope this helps

    I heard that the 1.5d saxo cable works.

    as above, 8v cable is too short,bike gear cable from halfords for 1.99, works a freaking treat!

    It's like a serrated plastic sleeve, so you can adjust where the cable sits.

    universal cable is the same as they all sell you for a replacement..theyre about £11!
