Losses power on startup. ( Sorted )

Hi, i have a problem with my saxo.

Sometimes it looses power when you want to crank it. When you flip to ignition the fuel pump primes and when you want to start the car it dies and has no electricity. Then i open the hood and take of the + and put it back and it starts normally.

And i have one more problem that when i start the car it dies because it dont hold the rews and i have to give it gas that it stay on. After a minute it holds the rews but when i rew it to 2-3k and let of the gas it falls lower than 0,5 and clims up to 0,75.

Maybe someone had issues like this?

    Thank you

smells like moisture between the spark plugs and coil pack. Worse case scenario the coil pack needs changing. I'm guessing it goes fine once the engine is warm?

Try giving it a clean + spray a little wd40 to protect from more water ingress and see what happens.

And about the power can it be that somewhere is a ground issue because its ok on the ignition but when you want to start it it dies and has no electricity what so ever.

That sounds like you don't have the battery terminals clamped on enough. If you're simply removing them and refitting and it works, it sounds like it's not tight enough when you first go to start it.

ok but why when i start it after a day or so it does it again....

It's just something work checking, it may not be.

If the battery clamp is misshapen or worn, it might not be making good contact. The power demand is high for starting the car, once it's running and you've driven it it, it could be working itself loose again.

Depending on what type of battery clamp your using their is often a little metal cage that is fitted onto the battery terminals.are the cages fitted?

My terminal + is a original Citroen one that has no screws and just tightens by pushing it down.

Btw i wanted to change it but i don't know how to maybe you can explain me?

So the terminals you have are one red and one green?

Sorted this put. My ground connection on my battery had a not good connection and that's why it was struggling to fire when it needed the power.
And the rews seems to be fine now and it holds the rews normal maybe it was just this. We will see.

    Thank you guys.
