C2 vts engine Advice

  1. #1
Hi today i found a c2 vts engine it has a 38k on the clock and is 2004. The guy in the place sayd that the car was after a crash and the engine is all that he has left. it has the metal intake and everything. the price is 160. Is it worth it.

Because i have to change my head gasket in my engine and my engine is 130k.

Can i use my engine loom and my ecu from the saxo because it has nothing?

My saxo is vts 2001 3 plug.

the JP4 heads these engines use require modifications to fit in a saxo using the standard saxo inlet.

£160 is a very good price yes. Make the swap. Well worth it. There are a few bit's to swap over and sort (throttle body, oil filter, various other bits) but in my opinion it's worth it, if nothing else for the the very low mileage.

you'll need to use your existing engine mounts (and cut the cam covers to suit). The jp4s cams and lifters are the ones to keep. Just put the complete engine in untouched really - your j4 management will run it fine once you've swapped over everything (sensors etc).
