Airbag Light on Dashboard

  1. #1
Hey guys, I have my MOT coming up and my car always has the airbag light on on the dashboard - is this something that it would be failed for on the MOT? If so, does anybody know how I would go about fixing it?

    Thanks!

    Yes would fail MOT.

Look under your seat and check if the connector is... Connected

It will fail an mot. Need to get it plugged in to diagnostics to see where the fault is.

Always been a problem with saxos , it is an MOT fail as has been said , sometimes disconnecting the battery , unplugging the air bag connector under the seat and leaving the car for 30 mins before reconnecting everything works ...failing that speak to the MOT man

Thanks for the replies, I've discovered a yellow wire has been cut or something under the drivers seat - I'm going to try to reconnect them and then see if the light still comes on.

best way to get rid of problem to cut and re connect using something like spade connectors to stop them working loose , like already mentions remember to unplug the battery and wait a bit befor doing any work

As above, disconnect battery and wait 30mins just to be sure.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I simply reconnected the cut orange wire beneath the driver's seat and the light goes off now... going to cover it in tape just to keep it in place.

Seems simple now, but when you're a newbie messing around with a car seems quite complicated!
