Went to fit my piper 421 manifold today to my mark 2 vtr. Now everything was going fine but once I got the new manifold into position there metal bits around the fuel filter stop the manifold from sitting flat against the engine and stops the bottom going back far enough to reach the centre section. It seems like its going to miss the oil filter which was my original concern.
Heres a photo of the problem, I've circled where the metal bits are sticking out and stopping the manifold from sitting properly.
What can I do to make it fit? Can I just chop these off or bend them out of the way? they don't seem to do much other that protect the plug going into the bottom of the oil filter but i'm sure I can do something else with that.
