Exhaust issues !!

ok its an xsi not a saxo, but same thing. lol.

fitted my exhaust about 10months ago, Gmc 4-1, Kam racing centre and a custom saxo supersprint backbox.

when i fitted it, it was like this (ignore the welding, my first ever attempt)

good bit of clearance around the bumper.

gradually, over time its moved, now starting to get worried its going to make an appearance through the bumper

what could be causing it to move back, its not even like its just moving with the engine on acceleration, as its permanently moved.

mani has taken a few hits, but only to the very bottom, and surely that would get pushed up, more than backward

its moved that far in 10months....I'd say just push it back then just do that quick 2 second job every 10months if it bothers you lol
Could be that if the manifold has been hit whilst driving then it will have dragged it back slightly! Doesnt look all that bad to me though tbh

Check the stud connected to the downpipe - cat and all rubbers in good condition

Check for all the above and just to be safe check the engine mounts as well.as the mounts can make an exhaust move.

You sure its not the bumper that's moved as the lines around the bumper (boot floor) don't appear to be the same on the old vs new pictures.

not that i'm away of, there is no (extra) damage to it, hasn't been removed or touched in that time, think that may just be the picture taken at a different angle. but something has moved, about an inch.

    exhaust mounts are brand new,
    same with the engine mounts
and there is no possible movement in the exhaust joints. will have to get under tomorrow night and see if the manifold has moved back, although i'd have personally said it would move up not back if its been hit

if it ever made contact and rattled, you would hear it.
