De cat standard mani

I was just wondering how do I make a homemade de car standard manifold and what sort of tools I will need to do the job! Cheers

you could always smash the contents out of the cat , therefor its a decat but it doesnt sound as good/raspy as a proper decat does mate

and as for the tools, 13mm socket/spanner ,10mm spanner/socket ( for the flange down at the bottom )
and 8mm allen key socket if yours has a bolt running through the exhaust manifold into the gearbox down at the bottom and last not least a hammer and a chisel/bar if youre gonna bray the internals out of the cat

^This. If youre on a budget and wanna do it at home/for free, just smash out the contents of the cat!

If you go that, wear a dust mask.

What would be a better way? Buying a pipe and welding it on?

well cheapest way for a proper decat is to get an mk1 exhaust
Manifold mate, can be picked up from scrapers for 20 quid mate

Oh right, will that fit on a mk2 with no relocation of anything? Cheers bud

Your more than likely need to relocate the oil filter if your putting on a MK1 manifold onto a MK2.

If you put a mk1 manifold on a mk2 youll more than likely crack the oil filter housing : £80 from citroen, most car spares places send you to get them from main dealer.

But in future you do risk failing emissions when it comes to mot, depends on the tester, i had a c*** of a tester when i had a custom stainless steel straight thru decat system and he wouldnt pass it.

If youve got the earlier system and your cat is underneath the car then its easier to work around if your exhaust isnt corroded.
Swings and round-a-bouts from one test station to another unfortunately
