16" spacer width/size?

Hey, I'm putting some 16" rims i got, on my car, its a 2001 VTS (Norway so its a 1.4 8V with rear drums...) (195/40R16 tires)
Tried them on (rear axle) using two 5mm spacers (10mm total), and the edge of the rim (inside) where touching the "ear" of the Anti Roll Bar on the rear axel.
So i have to get some new ones but is it enough or to much with 20mm spacers?
The Rim is 16x7(7,5" when measuring) and ET26.

Do you guys have any experience?

    Thanks!

Could always try 15s? I'll be fitting nimrods soon which take the same tyre and I've been told to use 15 or 16 mm

Hey, got 15" on right now.
Had 15" with 195/45R15 summer, changed the tires on the rims for wintertires, with 175/50R15, so wanted to go on with 16" rims in the summer

Try a 15mm spacer, i.e taking the ET to 11, dont forget that ET is the distance from the centreline, and if you add more width then you need a lower ET to give the same clearance to the inside wheelarch, or beam.

    try this:

    http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...et2=11#content

shows that ET11 on a 7" rim will sit 4.7mm closer to inner arch than ET19 on 6" rim, so might fit nice, however don't forget that there will be extra 20mm on the outside of the rim.

Hey, thanks for the tool, was something like that I were looking for! =D
Yeah, know about the ET, used the original wheels as standard in the tool you linked
(165/65R14 RIM 5,5x14, ET 24) and with the 16"rims and 15mm spacer (ET 11 like you said), it will go 6.1mm in, and 32.1mm out. and as the car got the VTS styling, you got "some" room in the arches to go out..
But I don't know if its enough with 15mm spacers . Got the Tire on the rim, and the rim is touching the floor, not the tire, when laying down...

The marking on the Rim is 7Jx16CH

    Thanks for the help!

Just had 16's put on my VTR, went with 10mm hub-centric wheel spacers for the rear of the car and now it's spot on.

Ended up ordering some 20mm spacers from Demon Tweeks.
Should arrive soon! I'll give a heads up about the fitment
